Plans routine maintenance checks for performance and maintenance of Aerospace systems
Tests aircraft systems under simulated operational conditions, performing systems readiness tests and pre- and post-operational checkouts, to establish design or fabrication parameters
Adjusts, repairs, or replaces faulty components of test setups and equipment
Fabricates and installs parts and systems to be tested in test equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and test instruments
Knows and applies National Transportation Safety Board requirements
Monitors and ensures quality in producing systems that go into the aircraft
Makes and installs parts and systems to be tested in test equipment
Knows and applies International Air transport Association Rules and regulations
Applies Code of Federal regulations (CFRs)
Adheres to Aerospace component assembly procedures
Troubleshoots systems and components
Records data from test parts and assemblies
Installs, runs, and maintains equipment used to develop, test, produce, and sustain aircraft and spacecraft
Adheres to Federal Acquisition regulations
Applies the principles of chemical rocket propulsion theory, including practical applications of rocket propulsion system design and analysis
Identifies required data, data acquisition plans, and test parameters, sets up equipment to conform to these specifications
Evaluates and communicates to appropriate personnel possible discrepancies and defects that could affect airworthiness of aircraft
Communicates details and implications of test procedures with aerospace engineers
Builds and maintains test facilities for aircraft systems
Knows and applies Import/Export requirements
Operates and calibrates computer systems and devices to comply with test requirements and to perform data acquisition and analysis
Selects and uses appropriate technical equipment including robots, lasers, advanced electronic optics to design, develop, produce and monitor aerospace components and products
Ensures that test procedures are performed safely
Installs instruments in aircraft and spacecraft
Selects and applies appropriate software to design, model, simulate systems including CAD, Analytical or scientific software, development environment software, database user interface and query software, graphics or photo imaging software, and/or industrial control software
Applies and adheres to American Transport Association codes
Develops inspection procedures involved in testing aircraft and missile systems under simulated operational conditions
