Verifies calibrations and sizes of all measuring devices
Takes measurements to an accuracy of 1/64 for fractions, .002 for decimals and Â½ degree for angles
Inspects finished product to ensure it meets required specifications
Sets up proven programs and load, run and inspect parts while monitoring and adjusting process, machine and tool conditions
Identifies surface defects, burrs and any adverse conditions such as flat or torn threads, out of round conditions, eccentricity, etc.
Sets up and performs sawing to a layout
Operates a CNC lathe or turning center
Handles and store hazardous materials as assigned while adhering to safe practices in accordance with OSHA and EPA requirements and guideline
Sets up and operates a CNC mill or CNC milling center
Lays out the location of hole centers and surfaces with accuracy
Keeps detailed records for equipment and procedures
Identifies and selects the required measuring instruments and conducts the required inspection procedures
Keeps the duty station, tools, workbenches, and manual equipment clean and safe for work
Uses aluminum or mild steel, hand drills and hand taps holes
Loads and unloads raw materials and equipment
Loads, runs and inspects parts while monitoring and adjusting process, machine and tool conditions on CNC machines that are already set up
Sets up and calibrates accessories and equipment
Ensures equipment is set within the required tolerances
Completes process planning, machine set ups, operations, inspection techniques and safety standards for basic drilling operations, basic surface grinding applications, hand operations such as drilling, reaming, and sawing, layout, inspection techniques, and basic manual milling machining applications
Sets up and operates vertical milling machines
Performs necessary maintenance and cleaning on equipment
Operates and program a CMM machine
Inspects and assesses the condition of tooling
Supervises machines as they run and make adjustments as needed
Demonstrates compliance with lock-out / tag-out procedures and OSHA requirements and guidelines
Sets up and operates machine tools to perform routine drilling operations
Sets up and carries out, between centers and with chucks, turning operations
