Southern Automotive Women’s Forum Scholarship

Description

The SAWF Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to women enrolled or who plan to enroll in a STEM related field, such as science, technology, engineering, or math. Qualifications for scholarship applications are for women to be enrolled or enrolling in a STEM field at an accredited two-year technical program, four-year  undergraduate program, or graduate program that can be used for a career in the automotive industry. The college/university must be located in a southern state. See eligibility criteria for what SAWF considers a southern state. Since the introduction of the Scholarship Program in August 2011, SAWF has provided over $443,500 in scholarships. SAWF expects to exceed this amount in the future through industry fundraising, society soirees and professional development events.

Female students in Alabama pursuing degrees in STEM or related to the automotive industry.
Must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA, with priority given to those pursuing careers in automotive fields.

Technical Training Scholarship (Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarships & Awards)

Description

Up to $20,000 scholarship to complete an aviation or aerospace technical training or certification course. Examples: ATP CTP, Airframe and/or Powerplant Mechanic certificate, Dispatcher certificate, Air Traffic Control training program, government or manufacturer's safety training, specialized training or certification course. Note: Excludes any flight training and any technical training that is part of a college degree program.

The AFCEA Educational Foundation

Description

The AFCEA Educational Foundation offers ROTC scholarships ranging from $2,500-$3,000 each to Army, Navy (including Marine Corps option) or Air Force ROTC full-time sophomore or junior students studying a STEM major with at least an overall 3.0 GPA or above.

Note: There is one application form for all ROTC Scholarships; applicants will be considered for all AFCEA ROTC scholarship opportunities for which they are qualified.

Eligibility Criteria
Be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident.
Be a full-time college or university student at the sophomore or junior level.
Freshmen and seniors are ineligible to apply.
Be enrolled in an ROTC Program.
Students must major in a STEM-related area of study in support of the mission of AFCEA. Have an overall GPA of 3.0 or above.
All applicants must be of good moral character; demonstrate academic excellence; have a financial need; and the potential to serve as an officer in the U.S. Armed Forces.
Scholarship awards are subject to availability of funding.  Scholarships are to be used for tuition and course-related expenses, such as fees, books, supplies and equipment that are required for the courses at the university for the school year.

The American Legion Legacy Scholarship

Description

The American Legion Legacy Scholarship is a needs-based scholarship designed to fulfill a financial gap remaining after all federal and state educational grants/scholarships available to an eligible applicant have been utilized.

To qualify for The American Legion Legacy Scholarship, you must confirm you meet these 3 requirements. 1. Must be a high school senior or accepted/attending an institute of higher education. 2. if accepted/attending an institute of higher education, must be a non profit and regionally accredited institution.(If unsure contact your institutions administration office. regional accreditation applies to the institution not programs within) 3. You must meet at least one of these requirements, had a parent die as a veteran post 911, or have a living post 911 veteran parent who has a combined disabled rating of 50% or more.(Disabled rating is provided by the veterans administration)

The University of Alabama National Recognition Scholars

Description

First-time freshmen who are recognized by the National African American, Hispanic, Indigenous or Rural & Small-Town Recognition Programs are strongly encouraged to submit all application materials by the January 15 priority deadline to ensure consideration. If eligible students submit an application and all supporting documents after January 15 but by May 1, they will receive consideration for admission on a space available basis.

Wischer Scholarship

Established in 2007 by Mrs. Irene S. Wischer, a highly respected San Antonio businesswoman and philanthropist, The Irene S. Wischer Education Foundation Scholarship provides scholarships to exceptional full-time undergraduate students attending a not-for-profit educational institution.
